My Interview Experience: Accenture "Go for Gold" Program
How it started
This one started with a referral for Accenture's Go for Gold program, aimed at 3rd-year students. I applied back in October-November 2025.
Getting the referral wasn't the finish line, though — before you're even eligible for an interview, you have to complete a set of Accenture-assigned courses and reach the "Gold" level. That part is compulsory; there's no skipping ahead to the interview without clearing it first.
The assessment
After clearing the courses, I got called for the assessment in January. This wasn't a single test — it was 4 separate assessments, each held on a different day, and each of those 4 broke down further into 3-5 sub-assessments.
Between them, they covered a wide spread: aptitude, communication, puzzles, maths, SQL, and more. Accenture is clearly trying to evaluate a lot of different dimensions through this structure. And all 4 main assessments are compulsory — doing poorly on even one of them is enough to get disqualified from the process entirely. There's no averaging it out; every stage has to hold up on its own.
The interview
The final stage was a short interview with an engineering manager at Accenture. It was brief — about 5-10 minutes — and mostly centered on my 10th and 12th board exam marks, my college GPA, and general background.
About half an hour after the interview ended, I got the rejection email.
What I took away from it
Looking back, I think the mismatch here wasn't really about performance — it was structural. The internship itself is in-person at Accenture's Noida office, running May-July, and my college exams fall right in the middle of that window, in June-July. My curriculum just doesn't line up well with an opening scheduled like this one, and that's probably the bigger factor than anything that came up in the actual interview.
Good reminder to check the calendar fit before investing time in a multi-stage process like this one.
